Donors Choose:
A few more books to create a lot more good students
February 08, 2010
Mrs. Ewing teaches English to grades 9-12 and would like to use several book sets for each grade, but she does not have enough in each one due to an increase in enrollment.
She has used all of the requested books in the past, and the students were especially engaged as they read the book, wrote an essay and completed a project. In addition, if she keeps all classes of a particular grade working on the same assignments, it makes it easier for a student who must move to another class period for a schedule change.
With the purchase of a few more books for each set, the various grades would cover the same novel at the same time.
Mrs. Ewing turned to Donors Choose to get the extra copies of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde for freshmen, Samir and Yonatan and Tuesdays with Morrie for sophomores, Red Badge of Courage for juniors, and Inherit the Wind for seniors.
