World-class BMX riders visit FSA

Indianapolis's Fountain Square Academy (FSA) hosted (at the Shelby Street Salvation Army gymnasium) Terry Adams and Matthias Dandois, world-class BMX flatland riders on Friday, Jan. 29 at 1:00 p.m. in celebration of FSA students' academic achievement and excellent attendance, and to reward students for their aggressive ISTEP test preparation. The event was sponsored by GEO Foundation, Red Bull and the Vincennes University Aviation and Technology Center.

In a specialized discipline of BMX that is often overlooked by most media outlets, Terry Adams and Matthias Dandois are international sensations, scoring magazine covers and feature interviews that help bring flatland riding to the forefront.

The riders were visiting Indianapolis to participate in the Red Bull Fight With Flight event www.RedBullKickOff.com later that week. “We are fortunate that our students got the chance to see some of these riders’ amazing skills,” said Keena Foster, Fountain Square Academy principal.

Fountain Square Academy students were transported to the event location in style via charter bus provided by sponsor, Red Bull. “The riders wowed the audience,” said Jeffery White, Director of Curriculum and School Partnerships at GEO Foundation. “The students have worked hard this semester to prepare for the upcoming ISTEP testing and it was such a treat to see them relax, enjoy the program, grab an autograph and interact with these athletes. We would also like to thank the Shelby Street Salvation Army for allowing us the use of their facility.”
