FSA students prepare for summer baseball
Fountain Square Academy and Fall Creek Academy are partnering up to create a baseball and softball team to partake in the summer leagues of Play Ball Indiana.
Play Ball Indiana is the local affiliate of Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program. Designed to encourage participation and interest in baseball and softball, the program strives to increase the number of talented athletes prepared to play in college and to promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the game.
The two schools will have about 27 boys ready to play baseball and about 20 girls to play softball. PBI is providing hats, t-shirts, and socks and coaches. The games will begin at the end of May and play through June.
