FSA Senior Captures $5,000 Scholarship
Congratulations to senior Fountain Square (FSA) student, Brittany Ozga. We are pleased to announce that she is the first winner of the $5,000 scholarship from The Chef’s Academy Top Teen Talent Contest.
Brittany’s dish titled, “Honey Mustard Dijon Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin with Apple Chipotle” was a sight to see and a flavor to savor – propelling her to capture this victory.
Brittany also confirmed the power of social media by sending Facebook messages and posting links to the “walls” of friends and family encouraging everyone to vote for her. She explains that, “People I didn’t even know were sending me messages of encouragement after seeing the post on a friend’s ‘newsfeed’.” Brittany’s hard work, enthusiasm, and determination obviously paid off.
Brittany will now compete on Saturday, March 19th in The Chef’s Academy first ever full-tuition scholarship cook-off. She will be competing against other students starting the program with her in August. We wish her luck in this competition!
FSA teacher Jane Bartsch who waged her own personal Facebook campaign to help Brittany win the scholarship stated, “We would also like to thank all who took the time to go to Facebook and support Fountain Square’s rising star chef. Brittany has always been a model student and exemplifies the ideals of FSA and all of our GEO Academies.” |
